CBN News was first to bring the story of Melissa Busekros to American television last year. The home-schooled teenager was snatched from her family by police in a SWAT style raid and put in a psychiatric ward. After an international uproar, Melissa was returned to her family.

But other home-schooling families face even worse persecution. More and more parents are being sent to prison. Heavy fines are leaving home-schooling families destitute. And more and more children have been taken into state custody.

A lot of American Christians would have good reason not to want their kids subjected to German state schools. The sex education curriculum is often pornographic, even for young ages, and the occult is often celebrated.

Although I see your point as in your willing to give someone else the benefit of the doubt, that they are not teaching anything bad. But to make you see it more from another prespective, would what you say apply during Nazi Germany?, where many good Germans could see what the government was doing, so before it all kicked off they left the country or took their children out of public schools. Point is there are limits and extremes to everything, can you see that?

Now about our religious education: 70% of the Germans are Christian therefore to imply that it would celebrate the occult is beyond ridiculous. In fact one of my religion teachers was a woman pastor, you think she would teach such things? Anyway, we were taught about religion in general, about Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Buddhism, Hinduism and "sects". The point was and still is to simply educate us. We were not taught that one is better than the other but that YOU choose what to believe in.

Some facts from someone who actually went to school in Germany for 13 years: Our sex education is not pornographic. The video makes it sound like we're shown sex videos or are being taught sex positions. In truth the first lesson I had involved some cutesy story about how Mom and Dad had another baby. And later on we are taught about contraceptives and about reproduction in general (meiosis/mitosis). Basically: sex has consequences and our education system makes sure we know it.

This story didn't come out in America until 2011... when a TV evangilist presented the story as if it were a new story.... keeping USA in the dark about Europe as long as possible... so they can do it here, I would guess.

and it must doing it right, because: the pregnancy rate among teenagers in the U.S. is 5 times higher than in Germany... that says all...

by the way, the book, they show in the video with the parents having sex, is not pornographic, we used that one in primary school, and there is just this one scene and they just rest one another not showing any Genitals, which is definitely NOT pornographic. I think this is just another fine example of prudish America meeting liberal Germany...

Also, the book shown in the video is called "Peter, Ida und Minimum: Familie Lindström bekommt ein Baby". (= Peter, Ida and Minimum: The Lindströms are having a Baby) Google it. You'll see it is not as scandalous as the video says.

Also, I never had to share the locker room or showers with boys. Girls and boys were ALWAYS separate no matter what age.
