This is a video taken on the longest day of the year, just above the Arctic Circle, so the sun never really set. At midnight the sun just dipped below the mountains and then started coming right back up.

Arctic circle is not certain spot in the map, it is _circle_ going around the northern part of earth at 66 degrees from equator, so it is in fact going through Sweden, Finland, Russia, U.S, Canada AND Norway :)

  • amazing how the sun would be up during midnight

  • Nice little geography lesson, the video, the interesting comments. Thanks people!

  • Yeah, but only at the north pole. ;) In Sweden we can see the sun, even on the darkest day. Then the sun is up between 10 am and 2 pm I think.

  • Don't forget...for six months in the winter, there is total darkness. No sunlight at all!
