One out of four chimpanzees in Uganda have been injured or killed by snares. The Jane Goodall Institute's Snare Removal Programs work to prevent more chimps from being harmed. - created at http://animoto.com
Snares are actually good because the only other choice is to kill the animal. At least this way the chimp gets to live even if he loses the use of a arm or foot. If these animals weren't so strong and defensive traps would not be needed, they could just be picked up and taken. So in a way it's the chimps fault for not understanding.
Snares are bad and there is a program now to educate people not to hunt in this way as it not only maims the animal you hunt it can maim chimps and gorillas and any other creature. Then they die a slow death.
This vid is way to short to make an impact. I suggest a re-do with more information and images. This 49-seconds leaves one asking, "If chimps are so wise, then why not release one-another, or even themselves, from snares?" Just a suggestion...

The use of snares is barbaric and cruel.
