Yeah Regan was after Carter and he was in a nuclear arms race with Russia, with the intentions of bankrupting them and it worked!

@James1toknow I was in The Army from 79 to 82 and stationed in Garlstadt, Germany 1st of the 14th Field Artillery and at Ft. Bliss, TX, I forget what unit it was, was only there 8 months, while in Germany I drove a Fire Support Officer for like 18 months. I was a Forward Observer. And when it was close to the end of my term I went to see how much reenlistment would get me and I would have reuped if they if it wasn't for Regan cutting over 180 MOS's (I don't remember the exact number).
