Four fighter planes on their way from Hanscom AFB to Fenway Park for the Independence Day flyover, passing by Woburn, Massachusetts. They made a few passes between 12:50pm and 1:30pm, in pairs and in this formation. Someone else saw them over Roslindale, about 15 miles south, around the same time. This is looking north, and they are flying west to east, sometimes turning southward after they passed. They don't show up on Passur but I'd guess they were at about 5000 feet.

  • Thanks for the correction.

(Best way to learn stuff is always to display one's ignorance on the 'net :-) )

Was Hanscom involved at all? We do get interesting Hancom-related air traffic overhead here from time to time.

  • Just a heads up.... They belong to the 131FS from the 104th FW at Barnes Air National Guard Base in Westfield MA, not Hanscom AFB. Also, they are F-15Cs, not F-14s as your tag indicates. I belong to the unit. Thanks for posting this!
