@WoodZillaTV Because klaus needed a vampire to break the curse and katherine doesn't want it to be her so she made caroline to a vampire and made tyler to a werewolf :D

There was a number of reasons.
1. She wanted the upperhand with Stefan and Damon.
2. Because she knew Klaus needed a vampire to break the curse. She only had the doppleganger, the moonstone, the werewolf and the witch. She was going to exchange them for her freedom.
3. Because its Katherine!!

I don't understand why the device worked on tyler and his dad. Technically they weren't werewolves yet.. I guess they just never thought about it.

It's funny. I'm not on the show yet, because I'm reading the books, but I kind of like the idea of bringing Caroline onto the good side. She's such a bitch in the books. I hated it when she was mean to Elena when she came back as a Spirit, but this new Caroline is so much nicer.
