@malarakijica @paul1967uk two dumb comments. when a car with a manual gearbox is parked, you can put it in first to ensure it doesn't move. this is used with particularly old cars with weak handbreaks. it amazes me how americans think manuals are so complicated and they have to be used a particular way, they don't. just make sure either the clutch is pushed in or the car is in neutral when turning it on or it will jump forward.

You don't have to start a manual in 1st gear, that is so stupid. Start it in neutral.

Keyless start's great until it starts going wrong. Trust me I own a 2004 Renault Laguna :)
