Only 10 months left til Bush's Administration is finally gone. Of course, the contenders to replace him aren't all that appealing. You've got "bomb iran" and "maybe 100" mccain on one side, and then there's angry Hilary and hopeless Obama on the other. I'm voting for Gravel rather than waste my vote on any of these 3 pathetic candidates. Gravel stands for real change! He's not some party hack like Obama and Hilary.

It doesn't matter which party creates and which party passes this bullshit. Either way the whole of the government is responsible. These fucks are going to spy on their own people and then eventually RFID tag everyone of us.
-
someone needs to tell this douche that his job isn't to take orders from the president.
-
I just can't wait to have my privacy raped even more!! They don't have an excuse, why not wave "State Secret Priv" at all of the lawsuits instead of granting the telcomm immunity.
Thanks Whitehouse, congress, and every dumb American who voted for this nightmare -- its coming true!
Fuck you!
-
Tell you what?! Let us listen to Mr. Bush's phone conversations and we can call it a deal!

The telecoms wouldn't have to worry about being sued if the government didn't ask them to do illegal things.
Simple. There's your immunity. Do break the fucking law.

Is this the big change the Democrats are promising to bring? Obviously the politics of fear still work with Democrats.

Corporate Democrats supporting the corruption of the White House and their masters Corporate Amerika. We either get rid of these corporate hack Dems or our Republic is over.
-
Of course the Dems are going to cave in to White House pressure. It's what they've been doing for the last 7 years. They're spineless bastards. They've been enabling Bush's extremism like the co-dependent wife of a drunkard.

Too late. The House of Representatives has no filibuster mechanism and the Senate already passed this over Dodd's attempt to block it. 50% +1 of the representatives have to stand up against this or the telcos get immunity.
Spineless Democrats, no one defends the American people's rights. America is not a "great democracy" anymore, its one of the most captured states in the world.

So neither party respect the constitution? Sad. It was once said that voting for both parties was like selecting various shades of grey meat.
