  • how do u make black fondant. i buy the ready made white fondant and have used several black pastes, gels etc but the fondant always only comes out grey :-(

  • @pist43 You need to either buy pre-coloured (renshaws or M&B make this) or a very strong colouring powder especially made for the job, 'House of Sugar' is the brand I use.

  • @MysticalMischief wow jus looked on "house of sugar" website. cant believe how cheap they r. ive just ordered some black powder. thanks for ur advice...and love the cake. i started making cakes last yr. i cant afford to go and do it professionally but ive made quite a few and no complaints so far...lol if i new how to put the pics on here i wud show u them...lol

  • @pist43 Be careful opening the pot, it tends to puff out! it's very very strong colourant. When I use it I mix it with a little trex before putting it in the paste, make it a day or so before you want it as it'ill take a while for the all the powder to be absorbed. Trex your hands or use gloves when mixing.

  • what is icing sugar??

  • @nikkit2401 Icing sugar also known as powdered sugar or confectioners' sugar . It's a very fine white sugar.

  • @pist43 I find if you are colouring using black pastes and gels, to help the colour along, when it is as dark as you can get it, try adding a touch of purple to it then follow that with yellow, that should make it turn jet black. :)

  • how do you make the strips not cuting them like how do you make the fonda

  • can you use liquid coloring
