For starters, my accent is a NorCal (Northern California) "accent". In particular, I come from the area around San Francisco, otherwise known as "The Bay".

Not sure if it's technically a meme yet, but since other videos are being called that, I have to follow the trend. For those who couldn't understand what I was saying for whatever reason, here's the rules:

Say these words:

Aunt, Route, Wash, Oil, Theater, Iron, Salmon, Caramel, Fire, Water, Sure, Data, Ruin, Crayon, Toilet, New Orleans, Pecan, Both, Again, Probably, Spitting image, Alabama, Lawyer, Coupon, Mayonnaise, Syrup, Pajamas, Caught

Now answer these questions:
What is it called when you throw toilet paper on a house?
What is the bug that when you touch it, it curls into a ball?
What is the bubbly carbonated drink called?
What do you call gym shoes?
What do you say to address a group of people?
What do you call the kind of spider that has an oval-shaped body and extremely long legs?
What do you call your grandparents?
What do you call the wheeled contraption in which you carry groceries at the supermarket?
What do you call it when rain falls while the sun is shining?
What is the thing you change the TV channel with

  • i dont think we from nor cal have an accent i jst think different slang and lingo i sound like people from anywhere else in the country but i have my own words like bamf and yar nd shit like that. all about how u say it not ur voice

  • @happyhomie4: Well, yes, these days regional accents are diminishing with the advent of instant audio communication, and with mass media delivering a "neutral" accent for news and even some entertainment shows. It seems that now, slang is the major differentiating factor.

  • Honestly I'm a SoCal girl and I sound the same. Is there a diff. between Norcal and SoCal accents?

  • @thehapagirl92 yeah, I think there is a slight difference, but you have to bepaying attention to hear it. You're probably more likely to hear dialects based on social class than region at that point.

  • I go to school in North Jersey.

  • i'm from the bay area and have a terrible valley accent. yours is pretty standard midwestern. consider yourself lucky,

  • I'm from NorCal, and I pronounce roof with the long double o-sound. My friends and I all pronounce it different ways, so I think that it comes from your family, and what your family says. Same with aunt and such.

  • Just out of curiosity, where do you go to school?

  • Nice video. We say roof here with the extended oo's as well. But I have heard people say it the way you say it.
