  • hi lisa, great name, one that i chose for my daughter, was fortunate enough to catch joe venuti when he was appearing at bourbon street night club in toronto when joe was in his early 80's. what a fantasticplayer, one set he played was all romainian and gypsy classics, he could bring tears to your eyes, itried to imagine him and bix to-getheri sure would like to have lived in those times.....oh well, i'm thankful for what i have, great videos and pictures, best regards al.

  • Wow! wish I'd seen Venuti when he was still performing - what a great story, thanks! When I think of all the amazing jazz pioneers I could have seen live in the 1960's

and '70's (and didn't) it makes me crazy ... aarrrggghhh!

  • They use a program like GoldTone, to filter out the surface noise (caused by skin acid on playing surface, esp. on edges, playing surface not being mirror smooth before pressing, and mishandling). The signal wave of needle scratch differs from that of the actual groove wiggle. GoldTone or whatever would block that during the copying.

  • Outstanding video montage, really evocative and informative.

  • Preciosa . ....... César

  • Wonderful pictures!

  • Bix may have been only 28 when he died, but at 0:55 we can see he was a dirty old man!

  • RIP BIX!!!!!

  • wonderful music for the ages

  • Fabulous! I love it!
