okay okay for John Paul ll, he had the upside down cross because, after the Death of Jesus all of his disciples were being hunted down and killed. Once they had found Peter (one of Jesus disciples) they were going to crusify him as well, once they nailed Peter to a cross he told the gaurds to put it backwards because he didnt want to die the same way as jesus or have the same death as him, therefore popeJohn ll has the upside down cross.
