does the height of the water effect the skimmer? i want to put one in the last section of a sump, but am wondering what will happen if the water level drops a lot if there is a lot of evaporation?

just got a second hand skimmer the same as yours, turned it on yesterday and the cu[p at the top started overflowing, any ideas?

hey guys ive got a problem and i need help asap. i have the v2 400 simular to this and it has a air hole in the top of the pipe but mine as soon as i turn it on squirts water out of it :O please advise

the bubble stop should stop most of the bubbles.Does the return pipe from skimmer fit inside the foam or flow on to it? The water/air feed part inside the chamber appears to be lob sided on the vid, therefore you be wont getting a uniform column of rising air/water. which could affect the efficency of your skimmer. I have read a few forums on these skimmers and quite a few people have different ideas on how to prevent micro bubbles getting in to the tank.

Do you get the bubbletrap and pump etc with the skimmer or does something need to be purchased seperately?

yes you get everything with the protein skimmer bubbletrap pump the lot

you dont seem to much flow through ur skimmer tho, you have the valve half turned from the pump. i would open it up fully and adjust the height of the collection cup to stop water escaping and to keep ur foam dryish.

it wont fit under the hood you have to make some adjustments to ur hood.we have tried turning the valve up but it seems to create loads of micro bubbles in the tank.can you give us any other advise it has only been fitted for about 36 hours.thanks for getting back to me.

Hi, im thinking of buying one of these. But im unsure if it will fit under my hood.. hang on isnt an option for me and i havnt got a sump(yet!!). with it inside a tank how much sticks up out of the water? im presuming the water level can be adjusted on the PS. thanks for the vid..

the collection cup is the only bit that sticks out of the tank water. we dont have a sump
