That's why HK people needs to go eff themselves if they can't understand mandarin and doesn't accept such a good talent. The market is so goddamn small they still listen to that Sammi Cantopop crap. even Khalil says cantonese market is way too small. HK 's good for international english song market. but even good HK based "western style" music artists gets ruined in HK, they better off goto Taiwan where people would appreciate real music.

Taiwanese singers and their mandarin (putonghua) songs are always very popular in HK. HK people don’t speak mandarin well but a lot of people know how to sing mandarin songs. It is only natural local HK singers are more popular.
BTW, Jane has won award(s) every year in HK since 2006; go check it out.

It isn't that HK ppl doesn't accept jane, it's we don't understand Putonghua very well, hence Putonghua singers don't before overly popular here. I like Jane for her English songs nayway.

@eesyeesyxx I don’t know what make you think Hong Kong people don’t accept her. Her song Painted Heart for the Hong Kong film Painted Skin won the Best Original Song in the 28th Hong Kong Film Awards in 2009. I'm a fan of her too.
