@smelliottkuhn Okay good info. I had a bad head gasket, but it was a very minor leak and I fixed it with block sealer. But now that its warmer out id like to do the head. I drive mine at about 2500 rpm before shifting. I baby my motor. What made you want to do the head on yours? Thanks for the reply! Ceck out my truck if you want. Ive done a lot of work to it so far. Right now I have the bed off and im POR15ing everything. Im trying to make my first truck one ill have for the rest of my life.

Hey man nice! Im going to do the same rebuild that you did with the same cam and parts. How does the power feel? Also, how many miles were on the bottom end when you replaced the head? Did you have to do the rings? I want to do just the head but engnbldr reccommends that I at least do the rings with it.

@BigManlyMan4, The change in power has been noticeable between 2500-3200 rpms. The engine seems to almost hit into a low hum at these rpms--its a lot easier merging on to the freeway--40mph in 3rd, and I am getting a good throttle response when I hit the gas. It seems like a lot of guys get a bit more of the full powerband with the EB 261--enough threads have got me interested--but that will be down line somewhere. Low end's got 196000, and I didn't do the rings--if it ain't broke don't fix it.
