Music is music no matter where it comes from, let people enjoy whatever they want to enjoy and stop complaining about how Bieber and Gaga are some of the biggest names in music right now. They got to where they are today because they make songs people love to listen to. The same applies to the Decemberists or any other musician out there. If intentions aren't to make money and just have fun then nobody is hurting anyone. Stop the flamewars!

@MrSucitivel I'd have to agree with you on that one: I only have one of their songs on my ipod. And wow, your humor is really astounding; true, honest-to-god comedic gold right there! "When did you join the band?" Just genius! But sir, I don't care, frankly, what you think about what I like because I don't take advice from random strangers who pick fights online since they don't have a life. The Decemberists make great music, hence my listening to it. And, BTW, their audience is pretty large.

This whole response made me laugh so hard I'm now lightheaded from being out of breath, but good for you, I'm happy that you're a decemberists fan you little hipster you. owl city?! still better than these guys, but they're just ripping off the postal service and death cab and the likes, their sound is one of the least original that i've ever encountered.

I like, among other things, Coldplay, the Beatles, Train, Owl City, Kelly Clarkson, and even Journey. I love Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Monty Python, Buffy, and Doctor Who. I'm many things, but I'm not a hipster. It's not that we're hipsters for liking the Decemberists-- it's that the rest of the world is just kind of lame for not. Please stop being a troll and listen to music YOU enjoy rather than talking crap about our band.
