This is an alternate version to the one originally on Marty's album 'Marty Robbins.' The song was of course, made famous by Hank Williams in 1949 with other versions the same year by Jimmy Wakeley and Margaret Whiting, Kenny Roberts and Jesse Rogers whom I've never heard of.

  • I really like Marty but Hank owns him on this song....then again, Hank owns them all as he is the best that ever lived.

  • @basenjib123

I disagree. If you played people Marty's versions of the many songs that he sang that were associated with or written by Hank, I think Marty's would win hands down.

  • I totally agree with what you say jhtenvelde. The reason I posted this version by Marty is because it contains another verse which was not in his version on the album of the 50's 'Marty Robbins.'

Thanks to you too mishijos7, anyone who likes Marty Robbins has immaculate taste in my opinion!

  • Robbins was a Williams wanna be

  • @tarquin45 I think what you have to remember is that hanks songs were so raw,by the time people like marty came along,we had all the electronics to make them seem better hank never had that.

  • Another fine song written by Arthur Q Smith,I like Marty"s version better than Hank,s but thats is just my opinion.

  • Just love that song from:

    "Marty Robbins".

What a voice and a lovely song.

    Amazing...!

  • Both Marty and Hank do this well and I love both but hank did own it and could make you cry. I own both versions and love them.

  • @tarquin45 listen to Conway sing this you might change your mind
