Ed Gray Tube manual discharge

This is a manual discharge test of the Microwave oven transformer secondary coil. When I trigger the discharge, the discharge is outside the tube at the point where I triggered the event. This tells me that the ground electrode must be positioned closer to the multigap but it must be "switched" into the circuit by the commutator (when I build one).
