@JShamw0w Honestly if you kick at their head, it doesn't have to connect, but if they THINK it's too close, you get a point, I mean I won my match due to that, but if it happened to me, I'd be pissed...though I respect the judges opinion..

@Caveman1213 It is the same with karate tournaments if you are under 18 and you live in a place like New York where all they want is money and they will graduate you ONLY because you're paying their rent bills even if you're not ready. My sensei teaches for free and he is a very good teacher but the tournaments we attend are very cheesy with padded everything and it feels like I'm just surrounded by a mattress...I can never get used to fighting like that at all.

@d789b OSU, He is, and very humble... you can find him in a TV program that 2 north american did. Traveling and training different martial arts. Thanks for your comment. BR

Man, I do taekwondo, and I find it's sparring pitiful, I hate the whole point sparring ideal, doesn't necessarily show your true power (Maintain control, can't harm them at all), too much padding, I feel like I'm going to die from the heat, and it's just tag to me.(My instructor agrees.) I can't do karate because NO place where I live teaches, but I am appreciative of the Taekwondo I have, I'll always care about that art, period.

@Caveman1213 OSU, is just like you say A will always care about the art. Just make it happen and train the way the art is. Keep training. OSU

@Caveman1213 Also all you have to do is just brush the front of the Opponent's Gi and the referee says POINT. Its like a little pansy game they have going on in some crappy tournaments that I have been to

@JShamw0w OSU, thanks for your insight... I think is best not having pads in tournaments and I am with you regarding money and degrees for free... should not be there but many people take the short way and is a mistake... keep training,,, OSU
