  • un peut trop joué vite.. comme un reel??? la cadence d'une marche est plutot sympa et met en relief la composition du morceau... cordialement votre en tant que uilleann piper

  • @stormg8 its called a hurdy gurdy

  • @Fiendin The "instrument" frequently associated with a monkey is a barrel organ (there are quite a few vids on Youtube). In 19th century NYC these "organ grinders" were often considered pests, something like mimes today :^)

  • Thank you for the information Fiendin!

  • That is a hurdy gurdy. That thing with the hand crank you see in movies where the guy with the monkey on the streets is trying to make money is sometimes called a hurdy gurdy. But it's no more a hurdy gurdy than a jack-in-the-box. It simply plays a tune automatically as you turn the crank. The true hurdy gurdy, like this one, obviously takes some skill in tuning and in playing. And no, I didn't know what it was either, but just had to find out after seeing the video too, hehe.

  • I love that sound! Those instruments go very well together!

  • youuuuuuuuuuuuuuaaaaaaaaa

  • Gorgeous video!!! What is that stringed instrument called? I've never seen that before! Thank you for posting this, it's really lovely! Greetings from Canada!

  • I love this video!! I have a heart for this music. Thank you!
