I just got my board and yunzi stones this week tuesday. I wash them with the same kinda bowl lol. Don't know why it's funny to me, but it's a fun coincidence.

would heat extracted coconut oil be good to use (your average non organic non virgin coconut oil)? it does not go sticky and is odorless.

I wrote a well researched comment a few days ago, but it looks like it didn't go through... anyways, I did look it up, and the only source I could find saying canola oil was ok was Chiyo dad--and he never gives a reason. On the other hand, I found multiple sites mentioning Canola oil SPECIFICALLY as an oil NOT to use; that would also include the booklet that came with my Yunzi stones.

what size are those tones??
@SamuelCish send them back to YMI and they will gladly replace it I am sure. Or request more stones. You should have at least 181 black and 180 white. And, yes, some did in fact contain lead. This error was caught and a recall took care of it

You're right about traditional cooking oils, but canola oil has special properties that still allow them to be used. Oils like vegetable oil and olive oil will cause those effects. Maybe a bit more research is in order :p
