Hundreds gathered at Harvard's law school for an FCC hearing on net neutrality. At issue is whether all traffic on the internet should be treated equally. The FCC is investigating complaints that Comcast has interfered with certain types of web traffic, specifically peer to peer file-sharing.

  • @worseto true, but if you pay for 10mbps service you should get 10mbps service. one of the accusations (that got skirted around in this vid) is that comcast was effectively capping user service rates at less than advertised, which is illegal.

  • Great Asian women for you ***lushfmlk.info***

  • a series of tubes

  • Who says anyone has to have cable or internet service ha ha. All Americans can go back to PUBLIC TV AND A NEWSPAPER. This country has serious issues.

  • The thing is thay I am PAYING for an agreement that doesnt say my traffic IS going to be shaped...

  • At least Comcast is doing something to manage and balance the bandwidth. if they didnt, then your neighbor would be sucking down 100MB transfers and taking your badnwidth in the process. be happy that its faster than dsl. its not slower if anyone says so and if it is, then get a technician to look at your network connections.

  • Hi ReikiH , I'm the same guy as mimimarije (my wife's account). Only because of media deregulation is Comcast, (indeed a private business} able to operate as a monopoly. Monopoly laws exist to regulate business in the public interest. If you are one of those "free market" people that feel that the best cure for all ills is a totally free market, then you should agree with me. Large companies like Comcast prevent entry to true competitors by manipulating lawmakers to legislate on their behalf

  • It's not a public service, it's a business. This is not the public water supply we're talking about.

Comcast can manage their business in any way, but just because it seems unfair to some people doesn't mean it's illegal or wrong. The FCC needs to be disbanded.

Why should we need a license to create electronic devices and communicate with each other? (See: Definition of license).

  • The FCC is only an agency run by people. Historically those people have been "big media" puppets. Now that's changing. It started before the 2003 decision on radio station ownership Copps was a hero. Powell was shameful. Look it up, it's interesting stuff. Our new guy is pretty cool.
