A great song from a great era from a great singer. "I've been here for eighteen years, I've still got life to go, I still got life to go...." Hey, did anybody know that The Possum wrote this song in the 1950's? Great job, George!

I love both George Jones and Stonewall Jackson's versions of this song.

your damn right.

According to George Jones book " I lived to tell it all" both Jones and Stonewall wrote it and they agreed that the one that had the hit with it is the one that would have their name on it as the writer. Stonewal had the hit with it but Ive seen Georges name on it on certain albums too.
