As a bass player who has been playing for 35 years Marvin has the most atractive pocket I've heard, he is a bass players dream drummer. But most importantly he's annointed! The annointing is a game changer.

@ftlleadershipgroup you're very right its all about the pocket, and Marvin has definitely got it. modern gospel music is creating some very undisciplined drummers, but when it comes down to a true worship experience it's about the words being sung, and the Spirit of God. Let's as musicians play tastefully so that the people can hear the words and sing unto God

@xIKeroppi That's a Yamaha Subkick. It basically a tool that some drummers use to get a little more of that really low ("sub") sound from their bass drum.

this is the same song he performed at the 2006 modern drummer convention and I think that this version is better. I felt that, although he was amazing in 06, he didn't open up his bag of tricks and show his full array of talents like he did in this video. This guy truly is one of the best drummers on the planet and is a blessing to all those privileged to hear him play.
