I am a Muslim, from a Muslim country, and Arabic IS NOT our native language, nor do I understand it. So understand that Arabic IS NOT Islam's official language and the majority of Muslims ARE NOT Arabs.

@Axmedkoole As Salaam Alaykum brother, Arabic is Islams official language, The Quran was revealed to Muhammed PBUH in Arabic.

@KILLUMINATL, brother. The Qur'an was revealed to Muhammed in Arabic because it was the ONLY thing prophet Muhammad PBUH understood. However, as obviously the Qur'an was NOT directed to ONLY Arabic speakers or Arab natives that makes clear that the Qur'an does not actually have an official language like a man made publication.

@Axmedkoole Jazakallah brother, Yes i agree with you that the Quran was not directed to only arabic speakers, but you have to no as well that The exact and accurate single translation of Quran into any language is impossible. Another thing is a Muslim should no Quran verses and few praying words that he should know in Arabic e.g Salaat, so for these reasons this is islams official language, Allah knows best.

@thirdeyewise2, Again, just because the Qur'an was revealed in Arabic does NOT mean Islam's official language is Arabic. God (Allah) revealed the Qur'an to the mass, whom speak different languages, from every corner of the world. The notion that you can't learn the Arabic unless it is Arabic is none sense. The Qur'an is translated in 100's of languages and most Muslims don't speak Arabic nor are Arabs.

actually Arabic is the official Muslim language simply because that was the language God chose to reveal to us his instructions. They say you really don't read quran properly unless it's in Arabic.

@qwertypluss Well at our local mosque a guy, his name is Alex converted to Islam. He is about 16- 17 years old and IDK,,,im a girl but my dad was at the mosque and the sheikh gave him books to read and stuff. he was like to my dad that his parents will kick him out of the house and stuff like that..but they really support him when he comes and prays

@qwertypluss, am I Somali by any chance?. What does that mean or got anything to do with this debate?. Arabic was the language revealed the Qur'an, and that DOES NOT mean that Allah revealed the Qur'an to Arabic speakers only, which obviously makes it clear that Islam is a religion of multiple races, creed, languages in different regions of the world. Arabic is spoken the fewest in the Islamic world, in another words Arabs ARE NOT majority in Islam. Review it.
