Barbados Bicycle cam # 27 [Silver sands/South point]

Silver sands beach is quite popular for wind/kitesurfing, they are a few apartments in the area but in the direction opposite to the way I went. The silver sands bus route has the highest number of buses in service, majority being ZRs (#11). Also one of the 10 Barbados football teams is based there.

The lighthouse (south point) is the oldest lighthouse in Barbados built in (1852), it was refurbished a few years ago but being made of iron the rust has got to it already. The area where I stopped shows much of the south coast, I hear the sunsets can be nice there but I haven't been there in the evening time for some years now.



I decided to make a longer video for change since both locations are relatively close to each other. On another note, now I have 10 subscribers! Thanks to everyone, even if this is the only video you've watched.

What awful road surfaces. What type of bike do you use, is it a mountain bike, hybrid or a racer? I never tried cycling in Barbados, I even found driving tricky enough after being used to London. There's much more road marking, signage and lighting here.

@busroutes You get used to them after awhile, its the drainage grates parallel to the road that I watch out for since I use a road bike. Drivers are usually easy going on rough roads so it kind of balances out. IMO London seems more tricky for cycling (especially with those bendy buses!), but I may give it a try next time I go back.

A fanastic video as always - I've never visited Silver Sands/South Point. I was in Barbados on holiday at the time you added this. Had a great time. Keep up the good work.
