@musicloverdude5 Yes, they were! But to sell a movie today it has to be a mixture of fast and the furious with soap opera mexicana. It can be bad writing. No problem. JJ did a trash version that sells.

The ST that won a legion of fans, has much greater than a quality toy sold from a Mcburger Sad! And the worst thing is that, make money and this is the most important. Not a good story! And that is what counts. It doesn't matter whether they are bad written or if the characters are a ridiculous version of the original. Romulanas ships that fire missiles instead of quantum torpedoes. Spock is a emo. One-dimensional villain. Applestore style spacecraft. Hopefully this won't have long life.

Great job on the video, I really enjoyed the sequence where you had clips from episodes or movies with characters from different series (Janeway in Nemesis :D). The Star Trek series were great, and always will be in my mind.
I enjoyed the new movie and liked that it was a new twist on Trek, but I can see why some may think not. I think what's important is that this essence of Trek still remains, because that is what has inspired people for so long.

@Grayphus: As I said in my last post, dumbfuck, BORG technology. That's how it was able to get weapons through the shields of Federation & Klingon ships. It's as good an explanation as any, and in the context of the movie, it worked well.

First, love this tribute and even though I very much enjoyed Ent & ST 09, I agree 100%, don't look to the past!!
But, this is where the re-launch novels come into play. Yes, I know they aren't "canon" and people just dismiss them out of hand, but these novels offer great stories that continue the adventures and stories of characters we have come to love. If I was ever able to create a new ST tv series, I would use the novels to create the setting...and yes, Im a continuity whore :P

In one way I agree with the OP in another way I don't whilst I don't think that the new startrek was the best it was good but not great but with regards Enterprise it had a good permise in that it tells the story of how we got from where we are today to the time that we became part of the vast Federation that we saw in the other series I just think the writers having done the show for so long we re running out of fresh ideas

The old TV shows are awesome and the movie sucks! Done! End of story! Wham bam thank you ma'am!

@Neville6000 Frack?? U mad bro?? ^__^

@Grayphus: The ONLY thing the 'old Trekkies' can do is put the frack up or shut the frack up, or (better yet) get the frack lost-and STAY lost.
The new film is empty! It has no soul. It's just a bunch of action scenes
like Fast and the Furious. Ideal for those who like fads.
It's actually very similar to Batman & Robin directed by Joel Shoemaker.
He also tried to make a fun movie, well we saw the result. Batcard!
Bizarro! Sold as blockbusters but films that are cheap.
Batman & Robin, 2012, Terminator 3, and the movie JJ. All of them unpalatable and soulless.

Good video, whoever was responsible and good music to it, I usually don't like music over trek scenes but this works well. The new film was commercially was a fantastic idea and got loads of non-trek fans watching, but for a real hardcore fan like me, it was awful.
