On November 9th, 2010, a group of scientists at NASA's Fermi Gamma-Ray Space Telescope announced the discovery of two bubbles of energy erupting from the center of our galaxy. The structure spans more than half of the visible sky, from the constellation Virgo to the constellation Grus, and it may be have been around for millions of years.

These bubbles extend 25,000 light years from each side of our galaxy and contain the energy equivalent of 100,000 supernovae.

  • Tony is a combination of Jack Horheimer and Carl Sagan. The man does his research and knows what he is talking about. Can you even imagine what he could do with the power of the Discovery Network behind him? I would love to see him have his own show on the Discovery Network! How can WE make that happen?

  • The best on youtube. Keep em comin.......

  • keep calm, watch tdarnell =D

  • @bignorge

Plus he looks like Gordon Freeman.

  • Can you please answer the difference between Supernovae, Hypernovae and Nebula?

  • @babyface2k It isn't a photograph taken from outside our galaxy no. I think it's a mix of full sky images of the galaxy from our view point and a good big of artistry based on what is known of the structure of the galaxy.

  • is a black hole a sphere or is it flat ?

  • @1:10 shot is not real right? Because from what I know, no man-made object has gone outside our galaxy to see its actual image, from the outside view. Please explain.

  • @clank174 Peobablly be instantlly turned to burned fuel.

  • Einstein made predictions latter observations could confirm, (graviational lensing.) Nothing is more profound than predictions that latter observations can confirm. Yet people still will not throw the apple away!

Walter russell predicted that the MilkyWay bubbles existed a long time ago, Yet people still will not let go of these magical spooky action from no-where theories, the bigbang, and pulling blackholes with a magical force that escapes, when nothing else can escape, but obviously dose!
