June 22nd 1893: Tripoli Lebanon. While conducting a rutinue training exercise with elements of the Royal Navy's Mediterranen Fleet, a flawed order from Vice Admiral Sir George Tryon, set the flagship of the fleet, the powerful ironclad HMS Victoria on a collison course with the battleship HMS Camberdown. By the time evasive action was taken it was too late and the Camberdown struck the Victoria on her starboard side, slicing a huge gash into her hull. Thirteen Minutes after the collision, the pride of the Royal Navy's Mediterranian fleet capsized and sank, taking with her 358 of her 715 crew members

  • and snakes why do you always do the disaster part when 'I wish for this nighttime to last for a lifetime' part?

  • @pinoyboys12

It's a more intense portion of the song that I feel fits with a disaster better then other parts, the only time with these single wreck videos that I've set something other then the sinking to that portion of the song is my Sultana video

  • what is the other ship that is standing upright?

  • @TitanicMemory51

The Russalka (Mermaid), an ironclad monitor from the Imperial Russian Navy, which was lost with all hands in the Gulf of Findland in September 1893

  • so..this ship is standing straight up in the ocean...?

  • @fangirl001

Victoria is one of only two wrecks that are standing straight up, in this case the ship was wieghted down by the giant forward gun turret and while she sank the propellers were still turning at the speed she was going when the collision occured, and as a result the ship was driven into the seabed at a 90 degree angle

  • why the hell does every warship video have this freakin song

  • The Victoria will sailing with all the battleships that was sunk in the sky

  • @rustohiski But he did take responsibility he went down with his ship and his last recorded words where " Its all my fault .... Its all my fault"

  • This accident was cause by excesses of Sir George Tryon, the admiral that was was in charge of the squadron. He first ordered his ships to form two columns and then each one to turn inwards towards so that ships from the right column would eventually form a left one and vice versa. Watertight doors on Victoria were open due to the heat and after the collision, there was no time to close them.

  • i really give a thums up:D
