You're right, they need to have absolute believe. I think oh I might mishit this-they think I'll birdie it. One of the reasons Im 14 handicap and they are much better. But I think that mentality carries through off the course. And you got to admit, Monty is up himself more than most. Brilliant player, not sure if I'd want to go for a beer with him-but who knows, the media do have it in for him-just like Faldo I guess.

Fair enough! And you're entitled. Monty is a great player too, and I really like him. I do think he is a bit arrogant and throws temper tantrums. Not sure how he will be as a captain-he should command lots of respect, but I can see one or two not liking him at all.

Idiot captain??? Don't really see what he did wrong. everything he did worked out pretty well. Just they played better, our big players didn't play well and the media had it in for him.
faldo is an infinitely better player than Monty-and he has a much better attitude too.

it is pathetic and laughable to even mention montgomerie in the same breathe as tiger woods.
tiger is a distance in front of monty and has more more talent and more bottle than monty will ever have

I am sure Tiger is very concerned that Monty is a better ball striker. lol. that's like saying scottie pippen was a better shooter than michael jordan because he has a higher career FG percentage.
update: 64 PGA tour wins for Tiger, 0 for Monty (31 in minor leagues). don't even talk majors.

Monty may strike the ball 14% better, but Woods has the mental game unmatched by any other player in the world. 13 majors for Tiger...0 for Monty...62 Tour wins for Tiger...31 for Monty. Legend.

Monty is by far the greatest ever striker of the golf ball, statistically a much better striker than Woods to. In a survey carried out Monty hits the middle of his club 94% of the time, Tiger is second with 80%. Legend :D
