Picking up a six yarder. Sorry about the 'out of focus' part. I left it in anyway. Listen for the packer near the end of the clip, as I leave the parking lot.

Dare I say: Picking up garbage should be fun!

  • @BCEXTREME311

    Head cam = SAFE

  • @BCEXTREME311

    Almost forgot....

You made a very good point there. Folks, don't be driving around holding a camera in your hand; it isn't safe.

I'll use this opportunity to mention that I use a head cam in all of my driving/equipment operating videos for these kinds of shots. It's not always obvious from looking at the videos.

There are a few where I'm just holding the camera in my hand, but in almost every case, the vehicle is parked, or the machine is not being operated.

  • @BCEXTREME311

I think I did use a hand held shot for the Sea to Sky Highway shots (didn't have the hat cam back then), a few years back, but those are the only ones, and BCEXTREME311 rightly points out that it is/was a stupid thing to do. I DON'T do it now, except as mentioned in the other post, when I'm parked, etc.

  • This engine sounds alot like a cummins ISL!

  • @cactuarizamoron

    There's a reason for that.

  • I've never been a big fan of pull outs. On the route I was on in this video, probably 3/4s of the cans were pull outs.

Sometimes you get an overstuffed can that weighs close a ton, and you've got to push/pull it through underground parkades, up ramps, and then maybe once you get it to the entrance, you've got to contend with snow, ice, and gravel. It ain't fun dealing with that stuff with those hard little wheels.

    Thanks for the props, m8.

  • I mentioned to my bloggers on the St. Louis Post Dispatch on WHY they should vote "yes" on prop M which is for the MetroLink. That is so that guys like you get more money! There is a trash can at Metro's main office building downtown where the driver has to get out of his truck and get the can to empty it.

  • YES ! !!

  • If you mean the windshield wipers, I can't remember. I think they were electric. Sorry, my brain is tired.
