Archaeologists and scientific divers from NOAA's Monitor Marine Sanctuary, East Carolina University and the UNC Coastal Studies Institute performed an archaeological assessment of the Kashena, A Navy Tug sunk by friendly mines in the waters off North Carolina during WWII. The Kashena is just one of several merchant marine vessels that were documented by diver teams during the 2010 Battle of the Atlantic Expedition. Above and below water footage were shot on a RED one camera in partnership with the Renaissance Computing Institute (RENCI).
