Palestinian rap group DAM (Da Arab MC's, or "forever" in Arabic) created this music video about the life of Palestinians in Israel. They're from Lod, a town between Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, so they're Palestinians with Israeli citizenship (often called "Israeli Arabs"). They usually rap in Arabic, but they made a Hebrew version of this song with a music video to get their message out to the majority of Israelis who don't speak Arabic.
I've always wanted a subtitled version, so I broke down and adapted the lyrics from their website, to create this. I think this is one of the most powerful rap songs out there.
By the way, a lot of people are confused about what DAM stands for, but it really is "forever" or "eternity". See the interview at http://www.democracynow.org/2008/5/15..., where you'll find this:
TAMER NAFAR: Ill just correct you. Actually, dam is eternity in Arabic and blood in Hebrew. So its eternal blood, like we will stay here forever.

I don't know where you got that, but a quick glance of Jewish_population in Wikipedia gives a rough estimate of about 10-20 million, or around 0.3%. The figure that page gives for the U.S. is about right -- around 2%.
About 10% of the worlds Jews live in Europe - maybe that's what you're thinking of?
Interesting debate. I would love to here more and to post my opinion afterwards. I am from Serbia, btw, which means I am biased both pro Israel (strong historic ties between our nations, in particular during nazi ocupation) and against it (USA-like politics of brute force, heavy rightists); also biased to Islamic world (20th century, google "non-aligned movement"), and the opposite (500 years of problems with Turks, mujahedins in Bosnia, terrorism in Kosovo etc.). I will be followin your thread.
we are the little peoples at the world, palestines or israelis can speak more and more about our conflicts, but anyone there up will be hear us. They want more and more mony, they its mindm what we think or say.
It was built so far from the green line (Not that im happy they do) because of settlements that were there, the goverment couldn't let these people be unprotected, they are still citizens. By no means Israel did it to steal their agriculture, believe me when I say we got plenty in the Negev. (In the northern - middle parts of the negev its all fields for agriculture so its more than enough. I agree we could do better but people make this a terrible holocaust for no reason.
The government is hardly a passive victim here. Not very long ago, they intentionally created the settlements, strategically placed so as to maximize control over natural resources and land, and to render a viable Palestinian state impossible.
Yes, the government is responsible for their welfare, but the very first step a responsible government interested in peace would take would be to stop growing the illegal settlements with ongoing land theft, and start unwinding the settlement enterprise.
When you say that Israel has enough resources, you're admitting that she has no excuse for her ongoing theft of land, in the West Bank and in the Golan. The first step toward Israel losing the stigma of pariah nation is to stop stealing what isn't yours. The second step is to restore what's stolen to its rightful owners (perhaps in the context of a peace treaty involving roughly equal mutual land swaps).
So not only you accuse Israel of land theft, you also want the jews here to move? "mutual land swaps" - to where? They moved out years ago its like me demanding from Italy money because they expelled my ancestors, so I dont believe you are serious about the land swaps. Israel NEVER said it occupied the west bank nor the golan because of resources, it did it because of strategic positioning (The golan heights - high place) or to reduce smuggling in the west bank to stop suiciders.
The outline of mutual land swaps was worked out years ago, in the form of the Geneva Accord. See geneva dash accord (dot org) for the details. Of course, in December 2003, when it was launched, Ariel Sharon was more interested in land grabs than in peace, and he fought against it. But it's still out there.
You're right that Israel never SAID it occupied those lands for their resources. It did in fact occupy them, and steal the resources, though. Should we believe words, or actions?

Jews make 11% of the worlds population, stop spreading false statements.
