UPDATE: This entire film is now on NETFLIX for instant streaming only. I don't believe it was ever released on DVD. Those who are curious must check it out. Very strange to see Centralia so populated in this film
-------------------------------
Centralia PA was the filming location for the opening sequence of the 1988 film "Made In USA". The town's destruction is captured brilliantly. Filmed during the mine fire's peak, the town waits for the government demolition. Yes, this is the real Centralia during it's demise. No special effects were used. The movie stars Adrian Pasdar and Christopher Penn.
This rant is so dumb. I am from PA, and proud to be. There are good and bad places in every single state. People need to take their heads out of their asses. A ton of famous people are from PA, and there is a ton of American history to this place. If you don't like your environment then move if you can but going off one spot in PA is stupid.

@catherineonfireYEAH Clarification... I am uncertain how bad the drug problem is in California. But I do know that its is indeed statistically far worse than PA. This isn't to say that neither PA or Cali rank low.

@catherineonfireYEAH Not necessarily. The core of her argument is that Pennsylvanians are nothing more than lying druggies... casting on us all such a harsh generalization. When in reality her own state, while it has its many great points, has a far worse drug problem than PA does. Not to mention greater pollution and education problems. I defended PA out of state pride. I only pointed out Cali flaws to show her some reality. And her accusations were just an opinion of her "friend".

@endlessdream94 Lol, why are you hating on California just because some idiot from there is hating on your state? :P Not like you aren't completely right in arguing with her, but it's kind of like sinking to her level, don'tya think?

@SweetJaneofGoth Your best option at this point... since you have made statements with a complete 100% lack of evidence is to stop typing and start researching not only PA but your own corrupt state! You'll find higher pollution, crime, and drug rates. But I can't expect that you'll do that because you'd rather chew your gum, flip your hair, and skip school... all while listening to the gossip rantings of your friend that is probably quite a trouble maker in Fayette county.

@SweetJaneofGoth And how convenient that you say we do drugs and lie. That way when I say "no I don't do drugs" you can fall back on your other lame label of Pennsylvania that we all lie. Its pretty pathetic how you have labeled ALL of PA and its residents on the absurd rantings of your lying dysfunctional friend. Every state has its problems. California has one of the higher drug abuse rates in the country, not to mention at least one arsonist torching homes. Damn Burnifornians!

@SweetJaneofGoth Sounds like you will believe anything your lying friend tells you about PA. Californians lie just as much as anywhere else in the nation. Get off of your high and mighty self absorbed sheltered materialistic spoil high horse and get a clue! EVERY in the nation employees are giving what is called "leave of absence" for such things as pregnancy, rehab, medical, family crisis. Look it up!

@endlessdream94 Like that is only because people in California aren't lying bastards. In Drugsylvania every damn crack head goes around saying "I don't use drugs". Just apply for a job there. Maggs sister says drug addicts get to take paid time off for rehab, but straight people are treated like shit. That's Drugsylvania.

@SweetJaneofGoth And my other question of concern for you... since your friend Maggs says everyone from PA is a "damn liar"... then how can you believe anything she says? Hmmm? Is the the ONLY truthful person living in PA? I think you need to stop listening to your friend. And YOU need to stop using her generalizations as being complete and whole truths about every single person in our state. California is worse than PA, try buying a decent home there for the price you can buy one here.
