  • The enlightenment depended completely on the invention of the printing press. but what does a world look like where noone reads ?

  • We see the remains of a South American world which we don't understand and cannot grasp. And we are the poorer for it but if the Catholic World view is lost then we will be the poorer.

Stephens's view is a-historical.He is blind to the effects of time and place.

  • Stephen appears to lament the loss of the world which the Catholic Church replaced. He mentions the South American civilisations but these worlds were horrible almost beyond belief. Daily child sacrifice , brutal ball "games" played with life at stake.A gruesome stone age relic. No wonder the Spanish Conquistadores with all their faults thought they were bringing something better. What he is really lamenting is the loss of something which is gone forever and now the Catholic church...

  • Brilliant speech Steven!

  • The church sits upon seven hills and bathes in the blood of martyrs, whore of babylon

  • fatality, best speech I have heard, ever!

  • could we get the whole speech?

  • @epanopio But please, continue.

  • @epanopio Are you really trying to argue that the Catholic Church can't be the Church that Christ established, because the name isn't "The Church of Christ"? That is probably the worst argument I have ever heard used against the Church. Congratulations. I've been defending the Church publicly for quite some time now, and you have won the distinction of using the worst argument I have ever heard. Plus, this is the internet, so that's saying something.

Ephesians 5:27 "and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless."

    But which church?

Romans 16:16 "Greet one another with a holy kiss. The churches of Christ greet you."

The Church of Christ. Not Catholic Church; that church does not exist in the Bible. Would you like more?
