This is a real-time video of a ride down the short Santiago Creek Bike Trail in Orange California. The trail runs from near the intersection of La Veta and Tustin Ave, to the corner of Broadway and Main Place Drive at the south side of the Main Place Mall. I shot this with my helmet cam while riding my recumbent trike. The trail is only a few miles long and it really does only take about 10 -15 minutes to ride at a reasonable pace. The path passes through Hart Park in Orange, and goes past an archery range, a few other small parks and the Discovery Science Center museum. The trail is short (ONLY 2.5 MILES) but is a great way to get through the city of orange between the mall and the residential areas on the east side of the 55 freeway.

  • HAAA!!! It may be a short route but it never gets old, on my initial test run video to my starting point to see how well my camera held I almost ran into a couple. Apparently the girl went right and the guy went left. So you can see thru the camera of me almost hitting the woman's arse... LOL. too bad Flip cameras make it such a chore to edit and upload videos otherwise it would be on here by now. I wonder when the extension will be completed and by how far, starting from Arroyo casa headed east

  • @AAAnomalyyy - as I understand it... the connection to the completed trail on the upper part of the creek is supposed to happen soon. I see there is already a bridge setup near the chapman / 55 freeway offramps so I am assuming that is part of it... when that is done it should go al the way to Villa Park Road. But I wish they would finish the tunnel UNDER the 5 and connect to the Santa Ana River Trail more than anything!

  • if you want a thrill take a left at the spot at 9:48 in the video, and go there at about 3 am.

  • Oh I know... I wend down that uncompleted part during the day an was a bit worried that I might meet up with someone who did not want me there! I got to the end under the bridge and quickly turned around and got out of there!

  • @dregerclock same thing happened to me. i was riding my bike home and found out that was a dead end. i was worried bout getting shot by these drug dealers under there

  • @SpinalRemainz - Yeah, they should either close that off or finish making it go through somewhere! Right now that dead end is just a bad place to get cornered. It would be great if it went all the way under the 5 to the other side. would make getting to the trail from the Santa Ana River Trail a lot easier.

  • is there DOG POOP ON BIKE TRAIL

  • @dregerclock You guys are paranoid. I go there all the time and kick it, smoke, whatever. If you don't bother anyone there not really gonna confront you...

  • @dregerclock That place does have a creepy feeling

  • believe it or not that whole section of hart park on the south side of the santiago creek was once a landfill dumpsite with old junked cars everywhere & all fenced off.. this was in the late 1960's when I was in grade school. my brothers & I and various school friends would go there every weekend & go through holes in the fence to play in the dump site LOL.. it later became a place for motocross dirt bikes. .. & either in 1968 or 1969 the parking lot in the creek was destroyed by a flood

  • hey theres my truck @ 2:47!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
