An overnight backpacking trip on the Pine Mountain Trail. This trail is located inside the Franklin D. Roosevlet stae park. It extends 23 mile across various terrian to include scenic overlooks, rock outcroppings, many stream crossings and beautiful waterfalls. The trail is maintained by the Pine Mountain Trail Association volunteers. You can check out their page at www.pinemountaintrail.org there you will also find many photos and information about events and special meetings. Franklin D. Roosevelt himself visited many of the places on the trail including Cascade Falls. His home known as The Little White House is located approx. 2 miles from the campground and is now a museum dedicated to his memory and his work with polio treatment. I grew up in the woods surrounding the area and have many many fond childhood memories of camping with my family. Please enjoy this video and leave a comment.

  • To avoid of the mess to clean from my cookware, I save my used Mountain House pouches, wash them out at home and then re-use them for my mac creations and other concoctions. I can just toss them out after a few uses

  • Nice video,I'm sure my son camped out there a few times back when he was in Boyscouts,Thanks for sharing it all with us!

  • Nice area....cool video.

  • Nice campsite. I have hiked part of the Pine Mtn Trail before.

  • Nice area and campsite. I too like to bring mac an cheese, fat easy carbs. Try Zatarans rice mixes too. They cook up pretty easy and you can add a can of kidney beans to them for some protein. 5/5
