@Paddy075 Says who?? The ones from the Saarlouis factory tended to rust even faster even in Southern countries. The Belgian ones were solid though

only cars that counted in that advert are the race cars and the cosworths

My grandad had 91`Sierra azura.he sold it unfortunatly.it could be mine.:(

My dad spent ages trying to tape this advert years ago when it came on,, We had a 1.6L which was quite a rare one as it was the 3-door ! Just like the Cosworth but without the sunroof, it was a 1983 model and we upgraded it to a 85 model with the Ghia style grill bumpers and lamps and also those rear "ears" at the edge of the side window that stopped the crosswinds It looked really smart, But sadly like all everyday cars it just began to rust away and in 1995 we traded it for a Granada.

I noticed a few years ago that there seem to be more 1990-93 ish Sierras around than 1993-95 Mondeos. I think Ford stopped building Sierra because they were too well made.

Its this, its that, if it was made in England it was rotten in 3 years. For some reason the German or Belgian ones were a lot better made.

@speakeasy365 - It was taken off a 20 year old VHS tape!

@atariman1988 wow it looks like its from professional master! how do you get VHS on to youtube? whats your process?
speakeasy365 1 year ago
@speakeasy365 From tape over to DVD using fairly high-spec kit, then the VOB files get split into individual ads and uploaded directly without any further compression at my end which I suppose explains why they still look good after YT have processed them.

Really good quality. Can you share with us what high spec kit you used? I've been trying to perfect the quest of VHS to DVD / digital transfers for years and still am not happy with it. I have hundreds of old tapes to transfer but gave up as the quality of dvd recorder on the fly mpeg compression was not good enough for me. I thought about using a DV camcorder with an AV in to transfer to dv-avi then process to dvd. But getting hold of a camcorder is getting hard.

@rareads - Sony VHS recorder, through a triple-screened gold-plated AV cable into a Philips DVD recorder. The DVD was then split up (using DVDShrink) into seperate ads. The VOB files were then uploaded to YT, who would then process them into FLV format.
