On what a piece of modern or contemporaty art 'means', the commentator's remark that it is really a question of what that work means to each individual viewer resonates with me, as both a creator and appreciator of art. When creating an abstract work, one objective for me as an artist was to access the pre-verbal aspects of human thought. Not dictating a response to the viewer is an act of respect for the unique viewpoint that everyone brings to the experience of viewing a work. Thank you.
