Performance comparison between the HTC Magician & the HTC TyTn II (Kaiser), showing the poor performance of the TyTn II against the far older device. Both devices used are the T-Mobile branded versions and their casings may differ from the HTC branded models, but internally they are identical.
It should also be noted that both devices are running TomTom in DEMO mode, and that the minimum of applications are running on each device. This is to reduce the CPU overhead with background tasks and GPS polling and allow the maximum possible performance on each device.
Both devices are running with the stock ROM's originally supplied with them.

have you tryed on kaiser a rom with the D3D driver included ? I've just tryed the difference between normal driver (101 mb of memory) and the d3d one ( 85 mb) and with the second one Igo is fluid almost like the magician!! ;)
With Coreplayer the results are 189.69% and 87.05%. These results are dramatically better than old figures reported for TytnII at Smape (97.62% and 23.38%). Hence, the video driver has been much improved. But for 3D gaiming you need still install HTC class action drivers.
i have a htc magician for over 2 years and i can't complain about it. it's one of the fastest pdas and with wm6.1 upgrade it's even faster. tytn is better only because it has built in keyboard and wifi. But as a matter of speed and stability the magician rules
