The owner's insurance company will likely recover their claim from the Towing company and the city. 5K worth of damage to the car, Damage to the landscaping and the salaries of 3 police officers who could have been doing their jobs elsewhere? Sounds like a real big waste of tax money to me. Perhaps this momentary lapse of judgement should be docked from some city workers check.

And the moral of this story is.. if you drive a fancy car cops and city workers will delibretly damage it if they can "Justify" it?

you should have stuck around to give the owner the bad news, and then videotape his reaction (of course).

Just ticket the damn car then, geez don't have to be all hormonal and causing so much damage to the car! Who the hell car if they weren't supposed to park there, doesn't give them the right to damage a car! Personally if I owned that car I'd sue enough for a brand new one. Once a car has been in a wreck the value drops significantly! Had I been there I'd rather have them taze and beat me than damaging (had that been mine) my car.
Just outright angers me! Just think had that been a rare exotic!

stupid video, can't tell where he originally parked. the police and parking company was stupid as well, damaging everything else involved, wouldn't it be better to give a fking ticket? oh no the cop wasn't authorized to give a parking ticket, so he decided to f everyone by doing his d!ckhead job. very typical of stupid d!ckhead cop.

So much for "protect and serve".
Fucking pigs.
I personally feel that towing the vehicle and damaging it was excessive. I think ticketing the driver and putting a boot on the wheel for the time being would have sufficed but regardless the driver shouldn't have parked where he parked.
