Whirling Dervishes have been in Turkish culture for many, many centuries, and the instrument at the beginning is the Turkish Zurna, it has been played in Turkish music since the beginning :)

I was born in Australia but have a Turkish background and one day we heard the start of this song , and naturally, thought it was on Turkish TV... We were so shocked as we heard the english lyrics and realised that Aussie TV was on.... hahah but felt very proud <3
