Dallas Flash Mob - Banana Phones at the Food Court

Here is the footage of our Banana Phone mission. We had over 62 people hold bananas to the ears and have loud, obnoxious conversations in them at Northpark Mall's food court. We even got applause at the end!

You'll have to forgive me, but what exactly was the purpose of this event? Is this someone's idea of a type of modern art installation? And what exactly was the opportunity cost of all these people walking around talking on banana phones? Just curious.

The whole point is that humor doesn't need a point! :-) They were originally an improv group that just enjoyed causing scenes. Now, there are groups all over the world.

Look up "improv everywhere" on youtube. There's a lot of stunts. My favorites are the freezes in Grand Central Station and Dublin, and the A&F stunt. The Suicide call is pretty good too. Very fun!

i love that dallas is doing this but please be better with your editing next time. i mean, watching that "freeze frame" video shot at grand central station was a beautiful thing. obvs this concept was way different but did the camera really need to follow one person around. i would have like to have seen more people walking around with bananas in their ears, hear commentary of food courters, etc. keep up the flash mobbing, add more cameramen, be better editors. more flash mobs in dallas!
