This is my hand balancing practice for 06-11-08.

A few notes before anyone makes these comments:

1. I need to point my toes more.
2. I need to increase the strength/flexibility in my handstands. I have the flexibility but I need the balance in that pose.
3. I am working on my arms being straight the whole time at the moment.
4. My knees look bent sometimes when they are locked out.
5. No, I am not sitting in the straddle-L-sit, lol.
6. I need to keep my ankles together.

So, all in all, I had a pretty good practice. I stumbled in the beginning but I recovered quick. I stretch for about 20-30 minutes before I do any exercise, btw. I am currently 187-189lbs on average.

Any other questions or comments (especially from GymnasticsBodies.com people) are more than welcome. Hope you enjoyed. Thanks for watching!

P.S.

Here is the order of the moves:

1. manna progression
2. repeat
3. high L-sit
4. straddle to handstand
5. repeat
6. elephant up or pike press (bent arms)
7. straddle L-sit
8. L-sit to HS
9. repeat
10. repeat
11. straddle to HS hold for 15 seconds (?)

  • I'm an aerialist and just now starting some partnered handbalancing... deepest respect for your hard work! Where did you find/what is the name of this remix of "My Violent Heart"? It's brilliant!

  • @1tallkat thanks man. google "bootleg is resistance" by ToTom

  • I'm not quite there. I can't wait till I'm where you are. I've been building up my shoulders doing sets of handstand push-ups against the wall. Now I've got balance training to do. Thanks for the inspiration.

  • @wil1243 my #1 word of advice is to really focus on the shoulder opening. bridges and more shoulder opening work is HUGE in handstand alignment.

  • Thanks for sharing your workouts. I'm inspired.

  • Anytime man. Thanks for watchin!

  • Man that is amazing Really cool. You look to be only a few kilograms lighter than me, but I'm no where near your level dude, very inspiring.

  • Pretty impressive! Great parallettes!!

  • really nice

  • Good work man! Here's a tip for your v sits and mannas... put your hands fingers facing backward closer to your bum or even slightly behind. This gives an axle point for your wrists to counterbalance so you can lean back more. :) Keep it up!

  • woooooooooooooooooow
