Your poem made me teary eyed to remember when my mom (who is not Muslim) said, "If you just take off hijab you will find a husband." And I replied, "Mom I am a Muslim and I am looking for a Muslim husband. She replied, "You still want to go after one of them?" Later she was bothering me so bad about it to the point I had to leave her house in tears because if one person you want to please is your parents and I can't do that if I wear hijjab, so I wear hijab regardless it pleases her.
