A valid point.

As a Canadian I am all for Missile defense of North America and both Canada and the United States should be contributing to making an airtight system for defense of the Mainland.

And in this time where North Korea is becoming more and more hostile, I think it is completely necessary to not only maintain what we have but strengthen it as much as possible.

I also understand...by my own stature...that looking strong is the best defence. I get it!!!! I completely understand it by observing my stature in front of others. Not by flexing muscles or volume but by seeing their eyes in seeing substance and leadership. 10% of the people will support money & success while 90% will give total devotion to morals & character.

One thing we studied in University is about the Scientific Court when Engineers and Scientists are the Judges (and Politicians?). Decisions based on science...what a thought!?!? Oh, for such a day to arrive. Fortunately for politicians, we are too busy helping people and the land.

I've been to Russia before Communism fell, been to Cuba many times, been to China...Europe many times, South America and even lived in Boston for a year. People are people the world over...they want the same things. Things get messed up when governments are involved. Saddam was taken down because he threatened to introduce a new currency in the oil trade. Simple.

Oh I forgot too. The US refused Russian proposals to reduce stockpiles even further in 2003. There's many reasons for that but Russia seems a little more level headed in terms of balance of power than the US it seems. Its funny for me to say too because I HATE the Russian Gov't and Military with a serious passion. Most of their politics.. well thats another debate...

Missle defence also causes first strike, When an effective ABM system is put in place it puts first strike as a favorable option for the holder. Thats why the anti ballistic missle defence treaty came out in the first place. After your government (Bush) withdrew from it around 2004 the Russians developed a brand spanking new SLBM that effectivly decoys any current or near future system and gets its missiles in.
