  • Is this a Goth Explorer?

  • @Maracouda -> Goth ? If you mean Gothic Explorer, no it isn't !

  • @DarkAmoNium okay. Someone told me that Amon Amarth usually play in drop B. Is it better to get thicker strings to drop in tuning? And how long do you play already?

  • @Maracouda AA play in standart B (B E A D F# B) and yes it's better to get thicker strings otherwise they are all soft, i have 72-13 strings in this explorer ^^

    I'had record this cover (my first one ^^) after 1,5 years of play

  • @hammastahn4 13-70? big strings! they are pieces of trees, my 12-54 to play Bstandar seems spaghetti

  • @DarkAmoNium i got .13 .17 .30 .46 .56 .70 and that set is great for b tuning : )

  • I use 13-59 who are pretty soft but you cant achieve this without make's some settings, but this is the minimal string gauge to tune down as low as B. Some song are tuned Drop B (AEADF#B) but they aren't numerous. (Ex: No fear for the setting sun, Gardian of asgaard, etc). I think Olavi use d'addario 14-64 and d'addario jazz ej21 strings.

  • a little wobbaly at the very beginning with the palm muted chugs, but great effing cover

  • @Maracouda... ok i didnt know that i cant help other people.

  • @schuldinersklokateer And sorry, that about the cover was meant for DarkAmoNium

  • @DarkAmoNium I play electric guitar for 11 months now, and I can nearly play Free Will Sacrifice and Prediction of Warfare. Do you think I will soon be ready to play the heavier stuff from AA? ;)

  • @schuldinersklokateer well I have a nice guitar, a Jackson Kelly (cheapest version). I still got the standard strings and they play really nice in drop B. But anyway, thanks for the help! And it is a nice cover!

  • @Maracouda thicker strings really helps. i use a custom gauge with my big e is a 54. and i have the first 4 string wound. that helps alot to. the last 2, b and high e are just plain. you dont have to get really big strings cuz i play in A standard and never come out of tune with my 54s... but having a nice guitar also helps...
