How to fix your carbon kevlar, or carbon fibre, canoe polo boat in a step by step guide. This video is an easy to use manual into repairing a crack, dent or split in your boat. The video covers each section of the repair, demonstrated on my own boat by someone with many many years of experience in this field. Feel free to ask any questions you may have.

  • The use of a peel ply offers several benefits when constructing a laminate with epoxy resins. Since it does not bond to the laminate, it will peel off when and if, bonding is ready to continue. The reasons to use peel ply are that there is virtually no preparation necessary before continuing laminating or bonding. Secondly, peel ply protects your laminated parts from dirt, dust and contaminates that they may be exposed to over the period of drying. Hope this helps, Luke.

  • This was taken watching the coach fix the boat, giving information each step of the way. I mean make sure the edges are straight alon the sides, if need be by peeling away a layer as shown in the video. Not that much sanding needed to be honest..

  • What is peel ply?

  • Good instructional video, but there is no mention of degreasing with a suitable solvent, to prepare the area prior to laying up. Some people may think a quick wash will be enough, and later find out the patch begins to peel or even come off because of poor adhesion. Just a thought that may help other viewers!

    Good stuff!

  • cool stuff. thanks! i found it super helpful honestly. I think i didnt get a good mix on my resin? now its like in a semi dry yet wet state. but i did that before your video!

  • and what do you mean by fray the sides to not shear the edges(step 7) and how much should we be sanding down

  • are you a professional at this? just asking
