Pope Benedict XVI greeted the many faithful gathered in the courtyard of the Apostolic Palace of Castel Gandolfo this Sunday, remembering this week too, the figures of the saints whose memories the Church commemorates in the coming days. In particular, the Holy Father referred to figures of martyrs Saint Teresa Benedicta of the Cross - Edith Stein and St. Maximilian Kolbe, both killed in the Nazi death camps, as well as the early martyrs of the Church of Rome, Pope Saint Pontian, Saint Hippolytus Priest, and St. Lorenzo deacon.
