From the Division Bell Album (1994)
Did you know...it was all going to go so wrong for you
And did you see it was all going to be so right for me
Why did we tell you then
You were always the golden boy then
And that you'd never lose that light in your eyes
Hey you...did you ever realise what you'd become
And did you see that it wasn't only me you were running from
Did you know all the time but it never bothered you anyway
Leading the blind while I stared out the steel in your eyes
The rain fell slow, down on all the roofs of uncertainty
I thought of you and the years and all the sadness fell away from me
And did you know...
I never thought that you'd lose that light in your eyes
at 3:40 I heard the trial...

This song, in all its purity, simplify's a relationship I once had, and pisses me off with it's excellence in simultaneously making be feel amazing and reflective on an outcome I never wanted to experience.

The lights lights shine at a distance from "Syd", who stares away half buried and immobile, but strong as steel and apparently no worse for wear. But the lights in the distance are grounded under the only sign of human presence which seems to be industrial and they are encircled by Syd's mouth.

The 4 lights are Roger, Dave, Rick and Nick. The head is Syd Barrett's split personality. And they are inside of his mouth. The eyes have 3 white sides showing, which in eastern medicine is the sign of a very sick man. "Syd" is in the middle of nowhere.
